What Locking Facebook Profile does?

It is a new feature announced by Facebook, which is currently available in a few countries. Luckily this feature is available in India. Enabling this feature will allow only you and your friends to view:

• Posts and photos on the timeline
• Cover photo or full-size profile picture
• Stories
• New photos and posts

In addition:

• Changes the existing Public posts to Friends Only
• Enables the Timeline Review feature
• Enables the Tag Review feature
• Adds a visual indicator to let visitors of your profile about the profile locked
• Hides various information under the About section

How to lock your Facebook profile?

To lock your profile, you need to perform the following easy steps:

1. Open the Facebook app on your mobile device.
2. Click your profile photo to open your profile.
3. Click the […] three dots button. You will see the Profile settings page.
4. Click Lock Profile, you will redirect to Lock your profile page. This page also displays information about how locking works.
5. Click the Lock your profile button, you will see the confirmation message of your profile locked.
6. Click the OK button.

If you realize that you want to unlock your profile, you can do that any point of time.

How to unlock your Facebook profile?

To unlock your profile, you need to perform the following easy steps:

1. Open the Facebook app on your mobile device.
2. Click your profile photo to open your profile.
3. Check if displays “Your profile is locked”.
4. Click the […] three dots button. You will see the Profile settings page.
5. Click Unlock profile, you will redirect to Your profile is locked page. This page also displays information about how you are more protected.
6. Click the Unlock button, you will redirect to Unlock Your Profile page. This page also displays information about how unlocking works.
7. Click the Unlock Your Profile button, you will see a message about You’ve unlocked your profile.
8. Click the OK button.
